Dr. Cox has a doctorate in Medical Microbiology from the University of Georgia and has worked in infectious disease research and testing for many years. She has done extensive work with most of the threat agents including Bacillus anthracis, Yersinia pestis, and Brucella species. She has also done diagnostic microbiology, molecular biology, project management and taught at the University level.
